El Morito
We began working with coffees from El Morito in August 2023.
El Morito is located in the small village of Morales, Mataquescuintla, in the department of Jalapa.
They grow coffee at elevations ranging from 1400 to 2300 m, 98 hectares of the total 672 hectares of the farm are dedicated to coffee, with an incredible natural forest surrounding the estate.
The farm works with many varietals, but they give priority to the ones that especially thrive in the climate and conditions of the area. They work with Pache San Ramon, Catuaí, Bourbon, Maragogipe, Pacamara, Maracaturra and Geisha.
El Morito recently placed 2nd in the Washed category of the 2026 Guatemalan Cup of Excellence, having also placed 2nd in 2025. They last won the competition in 2022 with a washed lot of Geisha and have placed within the top 10 on multiple occasions during the last decade.
